Tektro Racing Products (TRP) launched its the new EVO groupset on March 2, 2023. The TRP EVO groupset will be available for purchase mid April, online and from select dealers worldwide.
Further information and a public launch will be unveiled at the Sea Otter Classic trade show.
Tektro is a 35-year-old family-owned company based in Taiwan – and a number of major bicycle brands use Tektro brakes for their bikes. The new EVO groupset is primarily for off-road and mountain bikes. Over 90% of the TRP EVO groupset is produced in-house in order to maintain quality control.
Giving some background to the new groupset, TRP notes… ‘The evolution begins with advancements made to our first-generation features such as the Hall Lock, clutch system and cage release to improve performance and usability.
‘Unlike other shifting systems, our Hall lock feature mitigates drivetrain noise by stabilizing the derailleur on the mounting bolt. Our upgraded instant, silent clutch further tames unwanted chain slap and quiets the entire shifting system – while the intuitive cage release makes changing a tyre a breeze.
‘Couple these innovations with the all-new shifter design featuring improved ergonomics and a shift mode switch to allow riders the choice between one gear change per shift or a full sweep of up to four shifts, and you have a shifting system that is quiet, precise and efficient.
‘Finally, both of our carbon and forged alloy crank arms are mated to 1x chainrings with Wave tooth profiles to hold the chain securely over the roughest terrain.’
