New indoor training season product updates on ROUVY

As the northern hemisphere heads towards indoor riding season, indoor cycling app ROUVY is preparing a number of updates to help riders keep going throughout the winter.

New routes
In North America, ROUVY is adding seven new highlighted virtual cycling routes. These include Centennial Lake in Canada, Devil’s Tower National Monument in Wyoming, and Bryce National Park in Utah.

Four new European virtual routes are also being introduced. First up is a virtual rendition of the Puig Major climb in Mallorca, the highest paved road on the Spanish island. In Italy, there is the Dolomiti Sellaronda circuit and a new Alpine Forcola di Livigno route. While in France, a virtual route of Cime de la Bonette has been included, showcasing one of Europe’s highest passes and a regular feature in the Tour de France.

New dashboard and web portal
ROUVY has developed a new dashboard to highlight its content – from routes and challenges to races, group rides, and workouts.

Following an overhaul of the user interface (UI) of the ROUVY app, the aim is to simplify the decision making processes for users, allowing them to focus on their requirements from indoor workouts.

Alongside the in-app updates, the ROUVY web portal has also been redesigned. Replacing legacy portals rouvy.com/me and my.rouvy.com, the new portal allows users to view and analyze their past activities, manage their account, connect their account with supported apps such as Strava and Garmin, and discover new content including routes, workouts, events or event ‘Spotlight’ series.

New ROUVY bike
There’s a new virtual bike spotlighting ROUVY’s recent rebrand and new colours. This will become the default bike on ROUVY, available in all users’ garages on the platform.

New subscription models
To make it easier to ride with friends and teammates, ROUVY is introducing some new group subscription models in October. More information on this will follow in the coming weeks.

Riding memories with Snapshots
ROUVY users can capture favourite virtual riding moments and share them via Strava using Snapshots in the ROUVY Companion App. This also turns a smartphone into a controller to improve the ride experience. Users can also choose and register for a next route or event via the Companion App, as well as create a playlist of future rides and be kept up-to-date with the latest news.

Workouts
ROUVY is rebuilding its workout screen interface. Here, the aim is to provide a more seamless experience – allowing users to focus on a given session. ROUVY is also working on utilising machine learning to create new scenarios which push riders harder and keep motivation levels up. This feature would be tailored to a rider’s current level of ability.

Antonin Parma, ROUVY Product Experience Director, said “This is always an exciting part of the year for us at ROUVY. Approaching indoor season, we get the opportunity to present everything we have been developing to make the riding experience even more engaging, motivating and fun.

“We aim to provide a seamless transition between riding outdoors and riding indoors; and this year we’re improving the way riders discover and engage with our content such as routes or workouts; meaning you can get on your bike and start riding as soon as possible.”
