Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Las Vegas has announced an update to the event with the Start Line Village and race start line having a new home beginning in 2024. This will be at the heart of Las Vegas entertainment – Toshiba Plaza and New York-New York Hotel & Casino.
Participants of the 2024 Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Half Marathon and 10K will prepare for their race on Sunday, February 25 in the all-new Start Line Village located on Toshiba Plaza, outside of T-Mobile Arena, home to the Stanley Cup Champions, the Vegas Golden Knights.
The event organiser added that this is the first significant shift of the event’s pre-race entertainment and start line since its debut on the Strip at night.
With the plaza sitting adjacent to New York-New York Hotel & Casino, runners and walkers alike can access the Las Vegas Strip as they make their way to the southbound lanes of the closed Las Vegas Boulevard directly in front of the hotel and casino.
Known for playing a major role in Las Vegas being hailed as the ‘Entertainment Capital of the World’, Toshiba Plaza moves the previously off-Strip Start Line Village into the heart of the city, appropriately creating two acres of the event kick-off celebration and experience.
Participants will be able to enjoy a range of entertainment options as they join the festivities and prepare to run. Friends, family and race day supporters will also be able to enjoy a variety of restaurants with a front-row seat to the start of the race.
“We are thrilled to continue to be the only private event to shut down the entire Las Vegas Strip doing so since 2005 and then moving to a night event in 2011, creating the ultimate night-time running experience,” said Nicole Christenson, Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Las Vegas Race Director.
“Moving our Start Line Village and overall Start Line is arguably one of the largest moves since the event’s debut on the Strip at night.
“After listening to our participants feedback and working through different available options, we are confident the transition to these iconic venues along The Strip will create an experience that will not only elevate the entertainment opportunities for the World’s Largest Running Party, but additionally enhance the race day experience for everyone through ease of location and removing pre-race obstacles [that] runners previously had to navigate.”
While attention has recently focused on F1, the latest event to hit The Strip, Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas is one of the first large-scale events to take over the famed Las Vegas Strip when it did so in 2005. It also is the only one to date that gives attendees the opportunity to be on the ground in the action at one of the world’s major attractions.
