Rapha Excess Collection II targeting use of surplus fabric

Rapha is continuing to target surplus fabric by adding further colours and styles to its Excess collection, all made using excess materials.

Featuring new colour combinations, as well as the Pro Team Long Sleeve Training Jersey, the second Excess collection offers performance while minimising waste. The Excess collection is one initiative from the Rapha Excess programme, which launched with the Giro and Giro Donne switch-out kits for team EF earlier this year.

A release from Rapha added… ‘We recognise to some extent that as a clothing business the existence of surplus is unavoidable. Rapha is working towards long-term solutions for surplus, not just a quick fix for today. The goal is to minimise excess to a point where we do not have enough to make a collection.

‘For 2024, the uppers on team EF’s bibs will be made from excess. And this waste-reducing mindset reaches our MTB gear too, with all of our repair patches being made from surplus material.’

The Excess Collection includes: Men’s Pro Team Bib Shorts II – Regular, Women’s Pro Team Bib Shorts – Regular, Men’s & Women’s Pro Team Aero Jersey, Men’s & Women’s Pro Team Long Sleeve Training Jersey and Pro Team Socks.
