Mobile iOS and Android app, W3:Ride, has partnered with UK-wide charity Action Medical Research. The tie-up sees charity riders earn points when using the W3:Ride app.
Action Medical Research (AMR) hosts numerous cycling events and challenges over the season –such as the RIDE Vyking in Yorkshire, which takes place on June 4, 2023 and Davina’s Big Sussex Bike Ride on June 25. Going forwards, participants will have a chance to earn and donate from their riding.
Toby Tennant, Head of Relationship Fundraising at Action Medical Research, added “We are excited to be partnering with W3:Ride and launching this pioneering ride-and-reward technology at Davina’s Big Sussex Bike Ride.
“The charity is striving to develop treatments and cures to tackle diseases and conditions that devastate children’s lives. Through raising awareness and funds at cycling events we can continue to drive forward research to help sick babies and children.”
Every rider that uses the W3:Ride app will earn in-app power tokens (called $Power). These ‘in-game-points’ can be converted in two ways. Either a rider can convert their $Power into the $Cyclr token and use this to then to reward themself for their activity by buying something in the app-owned Cyclr marketplace.
Alternatively, riders can convert your $Power into the new ‘Impact-Token’ and donate earnings to charity to help Action Medical Research save and change children´s lives through medical research.
