Selle Italia has launched its first triathlon saddle with a 3D printed cover. The Watt 3D features the same shape as the existing Watt saddle but with a cover developed using Carbon DLSTM technology.
This technology has allowed the creation of differentiated cushioning zones based on the position held on a triathlon bike, as well as a double-padded construction with a softer top layer and a more rigid underlying layer.
Featuring a non-slip insert the new saddle is available in two versions: with carbon rails and with rails in TI316. Both saddles have a central Superflow cut-out and come in one idmatch size – U3. The Watt saddle structure rails are 10mm longer than traditional saddles, allowing more precise adjustment of the TT position.
Selle Italia has also released two new handlebar tapes: SG-Tape and Granfondo Tape. The SG-Tape features the new Selle Italia logo and is available in black, white and red. The Granfondo Tape will likewise feature a renewed logo and is available in black, light grey and red.
SG-Tape is made of PU (polyurethane), gel and lycra with a high grip and shock absorption. It is 3mm thick and targeted at damping vibrations on rough terrain, cobblestones or asphalt. Granfondo Tape is made of EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) with a smooth and silky texture. 2.5 millimetres thick, this tape can also be repositioned since the adhesive part is not too sticky.
