As one of France’s major marathons to take place after Paris 2024, the French Riviera Marathon Nice-Cannes returns for its sixteenth edition on November 3, 2024.
The event is in collaboration with title partner, the Alpes-Maritimes Department, as well as presenting partner Kiprun, and the support of the cities of Nice, Cannes, and the Metropolitan Tourist Office Nice Côte d’Azur.
According to the event organising team… ‘This event offers running enthusiasts the opportunity to take on one of the most beautiful courses in the world, with 95% of it along the coastline, from Nice to Cannes, finishing in front of one of the most prestigious hotels on the Croisette, the Carlton Hotel.’
The French Riviera Marathon Nice-Cannes course starts in Nice and ends in Cannes, passing through five seaside towns of the Maralpin region: Saint-Laurent-du-Var, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Villeneuve-Loubet, Antibes Juan-les-Pins, and Vallauris Golfe-Juan. The coastal route offers a unique setting, bordered by palm trees and framed by snow-capped mountains.
30% of runners in the 16th edition are international. This has been helped by the event being part of the AbbottWMM Marathon Tours & Travel Age Group World Rankings since 2022. Participants of the French Riviera Marathon Nice-Cannes will therefore be part of the AbbottWMM MTT Age Group World Rankings for 2024.
The French Riviera Marathon Nice-Cannes is an AIMS-certified race, and it was also designated in 2018 by Forbes Travel Guide as the ‘Most Beautiful Tourist Marathon in the World’.
The offers corporate and VIP packages within two of the most prestigious 5-star hotels in Nice and Cannes: the Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Méditerranée, where the marathon bib collection village will be held, and the JW Marriott Cannes hotel. This year’s finish line will be located in front of the Carlton Cannes Hotel.
In addition to the marathon, the crown jewel of the French Riviera Marathon Nice-Cannes, other race distances on offer include: 20km, 2×21 km, and marathon relay (from 3 to 6 relay runners).
The event organising team expect the 2024 marathon to be heading towards a record-breaking edition. The 20km distance has already sold out, and registrations for the 2×21 km are expected to close soon.
