The Gran Canaria-sponsored World Trail Majors has confirmed the induction of Australia’s Grampians Peaks Trail 100 Miler (GPT100) into the international series for 2025 and beyond.
Australia’s GPT100 will now sit alongside races in Canada, France, Hong Kong/China, Japan, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, USA and UK.
The Grampians Peaks Trail 100 Miler challenges athletes to a technical 162km point-to-point race crossing the entirety of the Grampians / Gariwerd National Park in Victoria, Australia, from north to south. Next year’s event will be held on November 6-9, 2025.
The GPT100 follows the Grampians Peaks Trail, 162km with 7700m+ of vertical gain. A point-to-point hiking trail established in 2021, the trail was laid out with 12 intermediate campsites to hike over 13 days. The race is non-stop with a time limit of 53 hours.
Grampians Peaks Trail 100 Miler will be part of the Gran Canaria World Trail Majors in 2025 two weeks before the final at RMB Ultra-Trail Cape Town, which will close the series.
The event in Australia, delivered by SingleTrack Events, also includes a 50km race and the same 100-mile race as a team relay or in a four-day stage race format.
