IRONMAN has confirmed the continuation of the IRONMAN Pro Series in 2025, building on its inaugural year in 2024.
IRONMAN notes that… ‘The performance-based world series will continue to showcase and reward the world’s top professional triathletes as they vie for points and event prize money towards the title of IRONMAN Pro Series champion and their share of US$1.7 million in year-end bonus pool payouts.’
In its first year (to date), the IRONMAN Pro Series has reportedly seen a global audience of over 5 million live stream views.
The 2025 IRONMAN Pro Series will be contested over 18 events and 17 race locations – including a combination of six IRONMAN and eight IRONMAN 70.3 triathlons from around the globe – as well as the VinFast IRONMAN World Championship women’s and men’s races and VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.
The 2025 schedule will see seven new race venues added to the calendar, including the IRONMAN 70.3 Geelong triathlon in Australia, which will kick off the season in March, followed by the first IRONMAN Pro Series race in South Africa with the ISUZU IRONMAN South Africa African Championship race.
In addition to the VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship triathlon in Marbella, there are three other IRONMAN 70.3 triathlons in Europe added to the schedule with the IRONMAN 70.3 Venice-Jesolo and IRONMAN 70.3 Aix-en-Provence races, both taking place in May, and the IRONMAN 70.3 Swansea triathlon, the first IRONMAN Pro Series race to take place on UK soil, happening in July. The series will also take a new stop in Maryland with the IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman triathlon in June.
All IRONMAN Pro Series races will be broadcast for free across multiple platforms for viewers around the world. Viewers in the United States and Canada can watch the coverage unfold exclusively on Outside TV, and international audiences can tune in across multiple platforms, including proseries.ironman.com, DAZN, and L’Equipe in France. On-demand playback will also be available through Outside+.
Returningraces from this year’s series include: Athletic Brewing IRONMAN 70.3 Oceanside, Cairns Airport IRONMAN Cairns, the IRONMAN Hamburg European Championship and Mainova IRONMAN Frankfurt European Championship, with all races to be broadcast live and free to a global audience.

All 2025 IRONMAN Pro Series races will be open to the approximately 1,000 eligible professional triathletes worldwide. The deep pro fields that have been a feature of the 2024 IRONMAN Pro Series have made for fast and unpredictable racing and gives all professional athletes an opportunity to shine.
While professional athletes can choose any combination of designated races in the series, only the top five race performances of the year will count towards an athlete’s final ranking, of which a maximum of three IRONMAN event results can be counted.
At each of the 18 designated IRONMAN Pro Series events, professional athletes will earn points based on their finish times to count towards a final series ranking.
A first placed finish earns maximum points – 5,000 points for an IRONMAN triathlon and 2,500 points for an IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon, while winning the VinFast IRONMAN World Championship triathlon will earn 6,000 points and the VinFast IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship triathlon will earn 3,000 points.
The end-of-year IRONMAN Pro Series bonus prize pool will continue to pay out US$1.7 million, with an additional US$2.5 million in event prize money to be earned at individual races.
The top 10 ranked athletes in each gender at the end of the IRONMAN Pro Series will earn the same as in 2024, sharing US$1.3 million of the bonus prize pool, with the top placed male and female taking home US$200,000 each.
IRONMAN points out that the distribution of the remaining US$400,000 bonus prize pool for athletes finishing 11th to 50th in the standings has been adjusted and weighted according to ranking to encourage year-long competition and further reward more professionals who finish higher in the rankings.
For example, athletes who finish 11th through to 15th will receive US$8,000, while athletes finishing 41st through to 50th will receive US$3,000.
An additional 40 events outside of the 2025 IRONMAN Pro Series will also offer IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 professional racing that includes world championship qualifying opportunities, as well as over US$1.8 million in additional pro prize money to create a total of over US$6 million in competition-based money on offer for professionals.
All races in the 2025 IRONMAN Pro Series are currently open for age-group registrations. Those signing up to age-group races alongside the 2025 IRONMAN Pro Series between now and October 6, 2024, will receive an IRONMAN Pro Series bucket hat as a gift.
