Cycling apparel brand Universal Colours releases spring/summer 2024 collection

London, UK-based apparel brand Universal Colours, which launched onto the cycling scene during the giddy heights of 2020’s cycling boom, has returned with Volume 9, its spring/summer 2024 collection.

Departing from the muted earth tones and pastels of previous seasons, the new collection builds on Universal Colours’ autumn/winter 2023 colour palette.

Chroma is the brand’s technical woven jersey offering, and blends durability and aesthetics with abrasion resistance that is claimed to be 7x higher than a regular warp knit jersey fabric. New SS24 colours include ‘Tangerine Orange’, ‘Bright Lime’, ‘Sand Brown’, and ‘Berry Purple’. These can be paired Chroma Bib Shorts in new shade ‘Mosswood Brown’.

A new addition to the line-up for spring/summer 2024 comes in the form of the Cargo Bib Shorts. These make use of mesh through the side and rear stash pockets to allow for varying storage options, whilst providing a lightweight solution that shouldn’t compromise breathability for use in high summer.

“I’m looking forward to wearing Chroma in a way which shows more expression and joy for summer riding through use of colour with this bolder palette,” said Lead Designer, Will Hurd.

“It’s also been exciting to realise the Mono Cargo Bib Shorts this season. There was an opportunity to merge valuable customer feedback with years of development, and it’s enabled us to connect with our community to form the end product you see today.”
