The Elite Trail Team (ETT), a team of trail and ultra runners competing in off-road events around the world, has confirmed a new partnership with nutrition app Hexis.
ETT’s High Performance Dietitian Rebecca Dent has been working with athletes and the app. She has utilised the app’s functionality to optimise how runners fuel before, during, and after training and racing. Hexis also offers the benefit of adapting dynamically to each workout in real time.
Dent explained “Endurance sport is challenging and requires correct fuelling, but this isn’t easy. Every athlete is different and the events they train for can vary significantly.
“Partnering with Hexis gives us another important tool to use in improving nutrition, which then has a positive effect not just on in-event performance, but also on recovery.”

Dr Samuel Impey, Co-Founder of Hexis, said “We’re excited to become partners of the Elite Trail Team as the sport of trail running grows and we learn more about what athletes need in this space.
“The ETT’s science-led approach to training and performance really appeals to our own spirit. We’re looking forward to learning from each other and supporting the athletes in their efforts, while looking after their recovery and health overall.”
The Elite Trail Team is made up of 14 elite athletes from across Europe. Some have represented their countries on European and world competition stages, while many have podiumed at, or won, some of the marquee events in trail and ultra running. The team offers these athletes support with a multidisciplinary team of coaches, nutrition, psychology, sleep, and physiology experts.
Doug Stewart, Founder and Performance Director of ETT, added “Hexis is a unique industry leading app that can enhance the way our athletes fuel during training and racing.”
