From pro rider to podcast – launch of The Anthony Walsh Podcast

The Anthony Walsh Podcast launched on June 10, 2024, offering listeners a fresh perspective on the pursuit of health, happiness, and passion for life. The launch episodes feature three special guests: John McAvoy, Valtteri Bottas, and Professor Ian Robertson.

Anthony Walsh, the podcast’s creator and host, offers a wealth of experience from his diverse background. After qualifying as a barrister, he quickly discovered the legal profession wasn’t his true calling, and set out to pursue a career in professional cycling.

His cycling journey took him across the globe, from France to Canada, Belgium, the USA, and back to Ireland. Combining his passion for cycling with entrepreneurship, he then launched the Roadman Cycling Podcast, which quickly gained traction and amassed tens of millions of downloads.

Through his work on the Roadman Cycling Podcast, Walsh identified… ‘a universal struggle for balance and fulfilment, and it is this that prompted him to broaden the scope of his podcast to address a wider audience, leading to the creation of the Anthony Walsh Podcast.’

“I am incredibly excited about the launch of the Anthony Walsh Podcast,” said Anthony Walsh. “This new platform is set to open up so much great content and reach a broader audience of listeners. By engaging with some of the best minds in the world, we aim to inspire our audience to chase their dreams and find balance in life.”

The first episode features John McAvoy, whose journey from career criminal to world-record-holding endurance athlete is nothing short of remarkable. After turning his life around in a high-security prison, McAvoy has become a Nike-sponsored IRONMAN competitor and an advocate for positive change.

The second episode highlights Valtteri Bottas, the Formula 1 driver who shares insights into the world of high-performance racing. He discusses the importance of mental resilience, precision, and adaptability.

In the third episode, Professor Ian Robertson, a leading neuroscientist and psychologist, delves into the intricate workings of the human brain and its impact on behaviour and performance. He shares insights on harnessing mental power, managing stress, and fostering resilience, providing guidance on unlocking human potential and achieving peak cognitive and emotional performance.

Nutrition brand Huel will be an early sponsor of the podcast, aligning with the show’s mission of promoting health and well-being. “We are thrilled to partner with Anthony Walsh on this exciting new venture,” said a Huel spokesperson.

“The synergy between Huel’s commitment to optimal nutrition and Anthony’s dedication to inspiring people to live healthier and happier lives is perfect. We look forward to working with Anthony and listening to the great shows he has planned.”
