Targeting a single bike to ride on asphalt as well as tracks and trails, through to bike-packing adventures, Campagnolo is offering up its new Ekar GT groupset teamed with Zonda GT wheels.
Ekar GT features a single chainring 1×13 drivetrain that allows for the combination of four cassette options (9/36, 9/42, 10/44 and 10/48) with 5 chainrings (44, 42, 40, 38 and the new 36). Campagnolo adds that this wide range of options… ‘means that everyone gets to choose the gear ratio that suits their particular needs.’
The new crankset in aluminium incorporates Campy’s Ultra-Torque and ProTech technologies, in addition to the convenience of being able to change the chainring without having to dismantle the crankset itself. The drivetrain is designed to be easy and intuitive. Simple adjusting and the presence of the clutch will be appreciated by both the most demanding and beginner cyclists.
The same drivetrain housing for all the cassettes makes for fast fitting of the chosen gear ratio. Drawing on experience with Ekar, the new Ekar GT groupset has a bigger pulley to prevent mud accumulating and to make cleaning easier. The new ergonomics of the controls provide a comfortable fit for the palm of the hand and a lever reach adjustment to suit any size of hand.
All the materials have been chosen also for their strength, to improve durability and maintenance. Weighing just 2,700g, the new Campagnolo groupset stands out thanks to its new graphics featuring the Winged Wheel and the Ekar GT logo in tone-on-tone colours.
The new Zonda GT wheels, are positioned as being ‘strategically versatile’. A 23mm internal bed, N3W freewheel body and 29mm profile height round out the wheelset, which integrates with the Ekar GT groupset.
With its distinctive G3 pattern of spokes in 8 groups, this pair of wheels is produced only in a disc-brake version and weighs in at 1,690g.
