‘LET GO NOW’ new book about Sebastian Kienle

‘LET GO NOW’ is a new book about Sebastian Kienle in his last year as a pro triathlete. To produce the book, photographer and filmmaker René Domke accompanied the three-time world champion for 365 days on his way to retirement from triathlon.

Spanning 12 months and 12 chapters, the ‘coffee table book’ includes a foreword by Jan Frodeno.

The topic of ‘letting go’ accompanied Sebastian Kienle and the book’s author throughout the year.

The book aims to document… ‘How difficult it is to let go of a sport and a passion that has been with you for so long. A year full of ups and downs, with profound emotions such as fear, loneliness and doubts; but of course also filled with joy. A year that pushes you to change your perspective and find a different kind of motivation because winning is no longer your main drive.’

On 240 pages filled with more than 170 photos, René Domke tells a particularly emotional farewell story – with statements from Kienle and his closest companions. Over the course of the year, the author also realizes that the topic of ‘letting go’ somehow represents his own life challenge as well.

From the introduction, it becomes clear that the author has made the book equally for Sebastian and the reader. He pays tribute to Kienle’s sporting career, but also aims to tell a relatable story for all readers.

The book is available in two editions: (1) a limited edition of 240 pages (Price €60); and (2) a special edition of 250 (priced at €100) signed and numbered books by Sebastian Kienle including a fine art print (21×28) in a limited edition of 25 copies (also signed, numbered and dated).
