Event marketing and management company In Motion Events has announced that the San Diego Foundation (SDF) will serve as the new title sponsor for its SoCal Triple Crown race series.
This past year, 1,260 athletes completed the three-event challenge and participation is expected to grow in 2025 with the support of SDF.
The San Diego Foundation SoCal Triple Crown race series includes In Motion Events’ three largest events. The series starts with the Carlsbad Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K in January, then the GOVX San Diego Half Marathon & 5K in March and is wrapped-up with the America’s Finest City Half Marathon & 5K in August.
The run event trio offers a variety of courses and scenery throughout San Diego. Athletes who participate in each event in the same calendar year, no matter the distance they participate in, will be awarded four medals, one for each race and a San Diego Foundation SoCal Triple Crown medal.
San Diego Foundation is a local organization that works with a variety of donors, including individuals, businesses and organizations. It awards grants that enable community solutions to improve the quality of life in the local region. With this title sponsorship, it is aiming to further its community involvement that has been ongoing for nearly 50 years.

With the San Diego Foundation SoCal Triple Crown race series wrapping up with the America’s Finest City Half Marathon & 5K, those who complete the challenge at this event can expect additional VIP treatment post-race. This includes an exclusive San Diego Foundation SoCal Triple Crown tent with free snacks, beverages, post-race recovery assets and more.
There are additional perks available for San Diego Foundation SoCal Triple Crown streakers, meaning they have completed the challenge for at least two consecutive years.
Each consecutive year a streaker completes the series, they will receive an additional medal slider for their San Diego Foundation SoCal Triple Crown medal at the America’s Finest City Half Marathon and 5K, the final race of the series.
The San Diego Foundation SoCal Triple Crown race series has already made a mark on a number of athletes, with more than 300 participants crowned streakers in 2024.
