Taiwanese bicycle manufacturers are optimistic about the bike industry’s growth prospects, anticipating a boost in sales – supported by a ‘positive impulse’ from the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.
‘The excitement surrounding the Olympic cycling events is expected to drive demand for high-quality bicycles, bolstering market confidence.
‘Sales of electric bicycles and premium models from Taiwan are already outpacing those in the mid and lower price segments. This trend is likely to strengthen, particularly as the 2024 Olympic Games are being celebrated as the most sustainable Games ever. Authorities are encouraging local spectators to use public transport or bicycles to attend the events, further enhancing the positive outlook for the industry. This underlines the sector’s resilience and innovative capabilities.
‘Following a boom during the coronavirus pandemic, the bicycle market faced challenges that have carried over into the current year. However, the optimistic forecast for the Taiwanese bicycle industry offers renewed hope for market recovery.’
At the Taiwan Product Launch press conference during Eurobike 2024, leading Taiwanese bicycle manufacturers will introduce new innovations, and representatives from the Taiwan cycling associations will discuss current market developments. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, July 3, 13:30 to 14:30 at Messe Frankfurt in Germany.
