DATEV Challenge Roth, which is set to get under way in southern Germany on July 7, 2024, will be broadcast in its entirety on TV and as a live stream on BR Television, the main German television broadcasting company for Bavaria and a key public broadcaster in Germany.
In addition, ARD, another leading German public broadcaster, will televise 50 minutes of the closing stages of the men’s and women’s races on its Das Erste flagship national TV channel.
BR Fernsehen will broadcast live on July 7th, from 06:15 CET until the women’s finish on linear TV as well as continuously in the livestream on BR24Sport.de and sportschau.de. In addition, BR will be on the ground, reporting on the triathlon in Roth on all its channels, from radio to social media, throughout the entire race day and in the days surrounding the race.
Das Erste will report live from Roth for the first time. The popular German nationwide TV platform will broadcast the showdown of the men’s and women’s races from 13:50 to 14:20 and 14:40 to 15:00.

BR Head of Sport, Christoph Netzel, said “The race is a flagship event for Bavaria – a real spectacle and a spectator drawcard with over 250,000 fans on-site. For our team, it is both a challenge and a matter of the heart to broadcast the TV marathon live on BR Television and streamed on BR24Sport for around nine hours.
“We are delighted that this year we will also be able to present the exciting final live on national TV: The biggest one-day sporting event in Bavaria is getting a big media stage.”
DATEV Challenge Roth 2024 will not only be shown live in Germany, but also around the world. TEAMCHALLENGE will once again offer a free livestream in English without geoblocking or registration. Further opportunities to watch live, such as a ticker and tracking, are also planned.
DATEV Challenge Roth is a draw for many of the world’s fastest athletes over the long distance. Confirmed athletes include Magnus Ditlev and Patrick Lange, who finished first and second last year. In the women’s race, the German long-distance record holder Laura Philipp, among others, are getting set to run a fast race.
