Challenge Family has confirmed that The Championship 2025 will be streamed live and free to view on Sunday, May 18, 2025, with no geo-restrictions.
The race will be broadcast in full via challenge-family.live, with coverage led by long-time Challenge Family commentator Belinda Granger and a line-up of special guests. Viewers around the world will be able to follow the professional races at the x-bionic sphere sports resort in Šamorín, Slovakia, along with finish line coverage throughout the day.
Over 90 professional athletes are confirmed to race for a share of the €100,000 prize purse.
In the men’s field, Frederic Funk (GER) returns looking to claim the title after multiple podiums. He will face competition from Justus Nieschlag (GER), Kristian Høgenhaug (DEN), Jonathan Brownlee (GBR), Greek talent Panagiotis Bitados, and Slovakia’s Richard Varga, who is racing his final professional event.
The women’s field includes 2022 event winner Sara Pérez Sala (ESP), alongside recent Challenge Taiwan winner Alanis Siffert (SUI), and other contenders such as Anna Bergsten (SWE), Hanna de Vet (BEL), and Katrine Græsbøll Christensen (DEN).
A record 2,000 age-group athletes are also expected to race. In line with Challenge Family’s ‘All About The Athlete’ ethos, the livestream will continue beyond the pro finishes to include coverage of age-group participants crossing the line.
The Championship livestream begins at 08:15 CEST, with the professional men starting at 08:30 and the professional women at 08:40.
