Focal Events, the organiser of the sold-out Panaracer Dirty Reiver, has confirmed the introduction of trail running & racing to an expanded format for its Gravel Rocks event in 2026. The event will be held next July in Duncombe Park, North York Moors National Park.
SCOTT Sports UK has stepped up to become the new title partner of the event, now named SCOTT Gravel Rocks, aligning with both the running and riding categories.
The SCOTT Gravel Rocks weekend will run from July 10–12, 2026. It now includes three riding stages with seven timed segments, alongside a separate two-stage trail-running event with two timed segments. Both formats are described as fun and social, with the timed sections adding a competitive element.
The new trail running events include a 6km night stage on the Friday evening, a feature that has previously proved popular with the gravel riders. On the Saturday, runners have a choice of distances between 10km–35km for the longer day stage.
Neil Atkinson, co-Event Director, said “The lines between gravel riders, trail runners and those who class themselves as outdoor adventurers across both sports are becoming evermore blurred; so with this expanded format at Gravel Rocks we’re looking to welcome both runners and riders in a friendly atmosphere celebrating the best of both disciplines.
“To then have the support of a brand like SCOTT which is so connected to both communities helps us elevate the experience to another level, something we’re hugely excited to bring to life together.”
Participants will choose between either riding or running for the 2026 event, with both sets of events sharing many of the same exclusive tracks and pathways across the Duncombe Park Estate.
SCOTT Sports will be on-site over the weekend, offering visitors the ability to test its latest bikes, shoes, and more for both runners and riders.
British nutrition brand VOOM Nutrition, a regular at UK endurance events, has also been added to the growing list of partners supporting athletes across both disciplines.
Entries for both runners and riders are now open. Run entries start from £89, which includes camping. Ride entries start from £125 for the full weekend, including accommodation. Team entries are also available.
