As seen on elites at London Marathon, SunGod launches FORTY2s performance sunglasses

UK-based eyewear brand SunGod has released its latest running performance sunglasses, the FORTY2s. Named after the 42km marathon distance, the new design was seen in action at this year’s TCS London Marathon and is now available worldwide.

Elite athletes including Mahamed Mahamed – the fastest British finisher at the 2025 London Marathon – as well as Anya Culling and Phil Sesemann wore the new model on race day in London on Sunday, April 27, 2025. The sunglasses are also worn by athletes from Team SunGod, including Tour de France winner Geraint Thomas and ultra-runner Tom Evans.

Built with SunGod’s 8KO nylon lens technology and a ‘zero-bounce fit’, the FORTY2s are positioned as a more compact alternative to oversized shield-style eyewear. The modular sunglasses are customisable via SunGod’s Pace Series system – offering different frame colours, lens types and hydrophilic rubber contact points.

Ed Watkiss, Head of Product at SunGod, said “We set out to design a pair of running sunglasses which every runner would feel comfortable wearing. We wanted to focus on the feedback that runners wanted a more subtle and compact design that would suit any environment – from parkrun to marathon.”

The sunglasses feature a 100% recycled TR90 frame and recycled packaging. Photochromic lens options are available alongside standard lenses, and the FORTY2s are backed by SunGod’s Lifetime Guarantee.

The FORTY2s retail from £110 and are available online at sungod.co and in-store at SunGod Basecamp London in Covent Garden.
