National governing body British Triathlon has partnered with LifeJacket Skin Protection, a brand focused on sun & skin protection.
The three-year partnership, announced this week, will provide support for the British Olympic and Paralympic World Class Programme.
The agreement aims to protect athletes, coaches, and staff from sun exposure during training and racing. The collaboration will also focus on educating the wider triathlon community about skin health and the importance of daily protection.
Mike Cavendish, Performance Director of British Triathlon, said “Triathlon is predominantly an outdoors sport with athletes and participants constantly exposed to the elements during training and in races.
Partnering with LifeJacket allows us to provide our athletes and members with skin protection, while also empowering them with knowledge and awareness that will last a lifetime.
“This is about looking after the person, not just the performance, and we’re delighted to welcome LifeJacket into the British Triathlon family.”
Jono Sumner, Co-Founder of LifeJacket Skin Protection, said “Our mission has always been to stop the increase in skin cancer and to help people protect themselves from the dangers of sun damage.
ecoming the Official Skin Protection Partner of British Triathlon is a proud milestone for us. Together, we have the chance to change behaviour, spark awareness, and help athletes perform at their best while staying protected – now and in the future.”
