USA Triathlon (USAT) has unveiled Elevate 2028: Focus Forward, a new strategic plan that will aim to shape the future of multisport as the USA approaches the LA 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
According to the national governing body… ‘This exciting new direction is designed to ignite passion, drive innovation, and inspire a nationwide movement that elevates triathlon to new heights.
‘At the heart of Elevate 2028: Focus Forward is a commitment to building an inclusive, vibrant, and thriving multisport ecosystem, where athletes, coaches, race directors, and clubs all play a crucial role in shaping the sport’s future. This plan will guide USA Triathlon’s actions and inspire everyone to push boundaries and achieve greatness – from first-time participants to elite athletes aiming for Olympic and Paralympic glory.’
USAT adds that its purpose, mission, and vision remain the foundation of its work:

“Elevate 2028: Focus Forward is more than just a strategic plan — it’s a call to action,” said Victoria Brumfield, USA Triathlon CEO.
“It’s a shared vision that will unite and inspire our community, driving us toward a vibrant future for triathlon and multisport. Our goal is to be there for every athlete, whether they’re crossing the finish line for the first time or striving for Olympic and Paralympic greatness.
“As we look toward and beyond LA 2028, we have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to elevate the sport of triathlon in the U.S. like never before.”
The LA 2028 Games will be the first time Olympic triathlon and Paralympic triathlon will be contested in the USA – in southern California, the birthplace of triathlon – offering an opportunity to build a multisport legacy across the country.
