Ergon has launched its new SMS line of mountain bike saddles, designed to accommodate modern mountain bike geometries and offer an evolved pressure-relief concept for comfort.
The new SMS saddle features an ergonomic design created for a more compact, upright riding position and is intended to alleviate pressure, pain, and numbness in the seated contact areas.
It is positioned as a versatile saddle for all types of trail riders, including bikepackers, and those looking for enhanced performance and comfort on a mountain bike or e-MTB.
The saddle’s larger relief channel and ergonomic contours aim to improve pressure distribution, while the Y-shape and gently curved surface are designed to improve rider mobility, pedalling dynamics, and overall comfort.
Its compact design, featuring a shortened, flat nose, provides more freedom of movement with relief and support when moving forward on steep climbs. The saddle also features Orthopedic Comfort Foam for extra sit-bone support.
The SMS line includes two models:
- SMS Sport: Uses robust TiNox XP rails with 1.5mm thick walls. The US MSRP is US$79.95.
- SMS Comp: Uses lighter TiNox SL rails with 1.2mm wall thickness. The US MSRP is US$99.95.
