Event discovery platform, findarace, has partnered with Run the World to launch the Go Far Fund, which aims to help people become more active, with a particular focus on breaking down barriers for disadvantaged or underserved communities.
findarace adds that the fund will support grassroots projects across the UK that help get people out the door and lead more active lifestyles. Members of the findarace community will be invited to propose projects to support throughout the year. Multiple grants of up to £1,000 will be made to selected projects every three months.
“The mental and physical benefits of embracing an active lifestyle are enormous,” said David Wearn, Founder of findarace.com. “The Go Far Fund is about bringing those benefits to more people, one project at a time.”
Dan Thompson, Founder of Run The World, added “The Run the World Fund exists to promote physical activity and raise awareness of its many benefits. We’re therefore delighted and excited to be working with findarace and the Go Far Community Fund to identify and support individuals and groups across the UK that are helping us all to be more active.”
The fund will be open to individuals, charities, not-for-profits, and community groups. Applicants will need to complete a short application form and demonstrate how a proposed funding project aligns with the fund’s mission.
