Gran Fondo Strade Bianche powers ahead with ESTRA as title sponsor

The 10th edition of Gran Fondo Strade Bianche, which will take place on March 9, 2025 in Siena, in central Italy’s Tuscany region, will feature Italian gas & electricity provider ESTRA as its new title sponsor.

Held on the day after elite riders take on Strade Bianche and Strade Bianche Women Elite, the mass participation Gran Fondo Strade Bianche sold out within a few hours of registration opening. This year’s gran fondo features a total of 6,500 participants, 30% of whom are international riders.

Italian radio station RTL 102.5 will be the official radio provider for the entire weekend.

Changes have been made to the long course gran fondo route, with the inclusion of a new gravel section in the final stretch. The Gran Fondo Strade Bianche course is twisty and undulating, with no extended climbs but with quite a few punchy bits, especially on the unpaved sections. There are more than 42km of gravel roads across 10 sectors.

Paolo Bellino, Managing Director and General Manager of RCS Sports & Events, said “The Strade Bianche weekend is one of the most anticipated globally, both for the two races on Saturday and the Gran Fondo on Sunday.

“During this weekend, Siena becomes the capital of cycling, and its beauty, broadcast worldwide, acquires incomparable media value. The figures prove it, with a steady rise in television audiences, reaching a total of 25 million viewers for both races, as well as in the digital universe.

“Strade Bianche and Strade Bianche Women Elite are treasures of national and global cycling, on a par with the great Monument Classics. Two thrilling and highly coveted challenges, thanks to stunning landscapes and exceptional routes – the same routes that will be taken the following day by countless enthusiasts from around the world. A great opportunity that Siena has been seized and will renew once again in 2025.”
