HYROX, the ‘World Series of Fitness Racing’, is preparing to stage its biggest event to date at London ExCeL, with the fitness racing specialist reporting over 40,000 athletes expected to compete from December 4–7, 2025.

The event is set to feature HYROX’s first one-lap run course in the UK. Over 30,000 spectators are also anticipated to attend the race.

This event reflects the rapid expansion of the fitness racing sport, which has reportedly seen a 5,614% surge in participation since its UK debut at London ExCeL in 2021. The first UK race was in Birmingham in 2017 with just 700 competitors.

The one-lap circular run course, within the 40,664 m² London ExCeL site, is designed to enhance flow, spectator visibility, and overall racing intensity, supporting the largest field HYROX has ever seen.

According to HYROX, fitness is the dominant discipline among gym-goers, with over 52% naming it their primary sport. The organisation has opened its 1,700th affiliated gym in the UK and has over 11,000 affiliated gyms internationally.

Moritz Fürste, Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer at HYROX, said “HYROX London is a landmark moment for us. I remember our first UK event here in London in 2021, and to see what HYROX has become today is truly incredible.

“The UK community has been a driving force for our growth, and this year’s expansion is another step toward realising our long-term vision. With HYROX now recognised as the newest discipline under the World Triathlon federation, our ambition to one day stand on the Olympic stage feels more tangible than ever. We’re just getting started, and we couldn’t be more excited for the future of the sport.”

Looking ahead, HYROX will return to London in March 2026 at the Olympia venue, hosting the inaugural HYROX London Week of Fitness from March 24–29, 2026.

The six-day celebration will feature six full days of racing across all 12 HYROX divisions, allowing participants to race solo, in doubles, or as part of the relay category.

The week-long event will also feature the first-ever Coaches Summit and HYROX Youngstars event.

HYROX Youngstars is a two-day event from March 28–29, 2026, designed for children and teens, mirroring the main race structure while adapting distances, loads, and movement standards.

Jessica Petty, Global HYROX Youngstars Manager, said “With HYROX Youngstars, we’ve taken everything people love about HYROX – the atmosphere, the structure, the sense of achievement – and reimagined it for children.

“It’s challenging, it’s safe, and most importantly, it’s designed for every kid, not just the future sporting stars. Bringing the race into the Week of Fitness in London, especially in the same venue where we first activated in 2024, feels like a full-circle moment.”

Throughout 2026, HYROX Youngstars will roll out at selected HYROX events across Europe, with US cities identified to join the calendar later in the year.

The HYROX Coaches Summit will take place at Twickenham’s Allianz Stadium, running from March 27–28, 2026.

Designed by the HYROX365 Academy, the two-day in-person event will bring together coaches from around the world alongside industry-leading strength and conditioning experts, sports scientists, and elite practitioners.

The summit will include over 25 speakers and 50+ sessions, such as practical workshops, research insights, an innovation hub showcasing new technologies, and a guaranteed HYROX London race entry for each attendee.

Christian Toetzke, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at HYROX, said “The London Week of Fitness represents a defining moment for our sport. Bringing HYROX London, Youngstars and our first-ever Coaches Summit together creates a truly international celebration of competition, coaching and community.

“London has always been one of our most passionate and influential markets, and this expanded programme reflects both the strength of the UK community and the accelerating international momentum behind HYROX. As we continue to scale the sport internationally, this week sets a new benchmark for what the future of fitness racing can look like.”

HYROX’s international footprint continues to grow rapidly. By the end of the current 2025/26 season, it is expecting to report over 1.3 million participants, with events spanning more than 85 cities across 30 countries. This marks a dramatic expansion from its 2017 launch, which by 2022 saw HYROX present in only seven countries, showcasing a 328% increase in its international presence.

HYROX is a global ecosystem of events, training, and coaching. It is built around a race format of 8 x 1km runs and 8 workout stations.
