IRONMAN and its Brazilian event partner Unlimited Sports have announced that the city of Curitiba, in the state of Paraná in southern Brazil, will host the newest IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon in the country.
The IRONMAN 70.3 Curitiba – Paraná triathlon will debut on March 8, 2026, expanding the IRONMAN 70.3 series in the country alongside Florianópolis, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Aracaju, and Brasília. General registration for the new 70.3 distance event will open on October 23, 2025.

Carlos Galvão, CEO of Unlimited Sports, which owns and operates the IRONMAN branded races in Brazil, said “Curitiba offers a combination of sports culture, natural beauty, and infrastructure.
“Athletes will experience an inspiring bike course, a scenic run through the iconic Parque Barigui, and a finish line atmosphere worthy of the IRONMAN tradition.”
The IRONMAN 70.3 Curitiba triathlon will feature a 1.9km (1.2-mile) swim in the Passaúna Reservoir, followed by a single-loop 90.1km (56-mile) bike course set against ‘an invigorating and motivating backdrop’.
The 21.1km (13.1-mile) run course will be staged in the heart of the city at Parque Barigui, where the IRONMAN Village and finish line will also be located, ensuring an experience for both athletes and spectators.

The IRONMAN 70.3 Curitiba-Paraná triathlon will offer qualifying slots to the 2026 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship triathlon taking place in Nice, France, on September 12-13, 2026.
