London Marathon strengthens senior leadership in communications and marketing

Guy Fowles and Heather McCormick join London Marathon events

London Marathon Events and its parent charity, the London Marathon Foundation, have announced two new senior appointments to strengthen its leadership team.

The organisation, which is a leading international mass participation events company, has appointed Heather McCormick to lead communications & public affairs and Guy Fowles to lead marketing.

Heather McCormick, who was previously the Director of External Communications at Guardian News & Media, has been appointed as Group Communications and Public Affairs Director. She has 20 years of experience in leading strategic communications and engagement for organisations such as the Elton John AIDS Foundation, the Lumos Foundation and the Youth Sport Trust.

Guy Fowles, formerly Managing Director of Wasteland Travel, has been named as Marketing Director of London Marathon Events. He is an experienced marketing director with over a decade in senior leadership roles and almost 20 years of marketing experience with brands such as Intrepid Travel, Penguin Books and the National Literacy Trust.
