Montane’s 2024 Impact Report focuses on responsibility & transparency

British performance clothing and equipment brand Montane has released its 2024 Impact Report, outlining its progress in corporate social responsibility (CSR) and setting out targets aligned with its long-term sustainability goals.

As the title sponsor of the Montane Spine Race, one of the world’s toughest ultramarathon events, the company is active in the areas of run clothing and accessories.

Its latest report, titled ‘2024 Impact Report: Enabling a Journey Through Nature, Knowing Our Impact and Correcting Our Path’, highlights achievements in conservation, ethical sourcing, diversity, and product sustainability.

According to the company, the report demonstrates its continued commitment to responsible business practices and environmental impact reduction.

Key initiatives outlined in the report include:

Memberships and certifications
Montane has prioritised third-party verification to improve supply chain traceability. The company works with suppliers that meet stringent standards and holds certifications from organisations such as the Fair Wear Foundation and bluesign.

Diversity & inclusion
65% of Montane’s range is now offered in extended sizing. The brand also supports underrepresented voices, including athletes such as blind climber Jesse Dufton.

Commitment to conservation
Employees contributed over 200 volunteer hours in 2024 to projects with Fix the Fells and Tyne Rivers Trust. These efforts were supported by financial donations to preserve natural landscapes.

Built to last
Montane has focused on durability, offering repair services and a ‘Repurposed’ programme to extend the life of its products and reduce waste.

2024 milestones
Other highlights include the company establishing its first carbon baseline and advancing work to eliminate PFAS chemicals from its products by 2026.

“2024 was another busy year for us, continuing Montane’s charitable commitments, building on past projects and kick-starting new ones,” said Anna Pitman, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager.

“Measuring our carbon footprint for the first time has given us greater insight into our impact that will help to guide the next steps we take.”
