The 13th edition of Navarino Challenge took place on May 9–11, 2025, attracting over 4,000 participants to the Greek region of Messinia.
The sports tourism showcase featured more than 70 activities, including running events, wellness sessions, and endurance challenges, set against historic and natural landmarks such as Voidokilia Beach, Gialova Lagoon, and the Bay of Navarino.
Amateur and professional athletes from 23 countries took part in the celebration of active lifestyle and tourism, with events based at Costa Navarino resorts and across the municipality of Pylos-Nestor.
Running events included a 21.1km half marathon powered by The North Face, a 10km seaside run backed by Dimello, a 5km race supported by Miele, and youth-focused 1km events. Notable participants included ultramarathoner Dean Karnazes and multiple Paralympians in the inclusive ‘All Unique – All Equal’ run.
The event also highlighted sports heritage, with the Athens Olympic Museum displaying memorabilia from late Olympian Alexandros Nikolaidis. His legacy was honoured through the ‘Alexandros Nikolaidis Award’, presented this year to former basketball player Nikos Zisis. Other awardees included athletes such as Fotis Zisimopoulos, Jo Manta, and Maria Prevolaraki.
Complementing the sporting schedule were curated experiences in gastronomy, wine, wellness, and local culture, reinforcing Navarino Challenge’s positioning as a leading endurance sport and tourism event.
