Outside of the 2025 IRONMAN Pro Series, which continued this past weekend in Aix-en-Provence, France, IRONMAN has spotlighted a strong professional athlete line-up for the next two back-to-back IRONMAN 70.3 races in Europe – IRONMAN 70.3 Kraichgau and IRONMAN 70.3 Tours Métropole – Loire Valley.
The Kraichgau race takes place on Sunday, May 25, in what’s become one of Germany’s most popular venues, while the new IRONMAN 70.3 event in the Loire Valley debuts on Sunday, June 1, in central France.
Both events offer elite prize money and qualification slots for the 2025 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Marbella, Spain.
IRONMAN 70.3 Kraichgau
Reigning IRONMAN World Champion Laura Philipp (GER) headlines the field in Kraichgau, where she returns for a seventh time. Philipp has won five editions in a row and clocked a course best of 4:13:12 last year.
Among the challengers are fellow Germans Caroline Pohle, Laura Jansen, and Lena Meißner.
Natalie Van Coevorden (AUS), Laura Addie (GBR) and Katharina Wolff (GER) are also expected to contend.
In the men’s race, defending champion Niek Heldoorn (NED) faces a strong local line-up including Jan Stratmann (GER) and Jonas Hoffmann (GER). Also in the mix is Pieter Heemeryck (BEL).
IRONMAN 70.3 Kraichgau offers a US$40,000 prize purse and two world championship slots per gender.
IRONMAN 70.3 Tours Métropole – Loire Valley
The following weekend sees the inaugural IRONMAN 70.3 Tours Métropole – Loire Valley in France, with a flat course expected to deliver fast racing.
French athletes Casimir Moine and Arnaud Guilloux headline the men’s field. Daniel Bækkegård (DEN) is among the top international contenders, alongside British Olympian Sam Dickinson.
The women’s field includes Justine Mathieux (FRA), Emilie Morier (FRA), and Britons India Lee and Laura Addie, with a US$25,000 prize purse and qualifying slots also on offer.
