New road option for SCOTT Frontier 300 coast-to-coast event

SCOTT Frontier 300 coast-to-coast event - Focal Events

Focal Events, the organiser behind the Panaracer Dirty Reiver, Dalby Grit, and Gravel Rocks events, has introduced a new road option for the SCOTT Frontier 300 event in 2026.

The SCOTT Frontier 300 will now offer both a gravel and a road route, both serving as endurance adventures traversing the UK from the west coast of Scotland to the east coast of England.

The new road option covers 300km with nearly 4,000m of climbing.

The two-day event takes place on May 29–30, 2026. The inaugural road event will be limited to 150 places.

The new road version sets off from Rockcliffe Bay, Scotland, in the early hours of Friday morning, sharing certain sections with the all-road route. The parcours heads east towards the borders, passing through forests, castles, and via a Buddhist Temple.

Day one covers around 175km, and riders set off on Saturday for the final 125km to the finish at Druridge Bay, 300km later, for a celebration by the beach.

Neil Atkinson, co-Event Director, said “With the new road format at Frontier 300 we can open up the event to a whole new audience of riders whilst still keeping the core ethos of what this event is about – a spectacular adventure on two wheels with a community of riders tackling the country from one side to the other.

“We consulted our extended community or riders past and present to get feedback on what would help open up the weekend to more riders. Having an equally spectacular cross-country road route alongside the all-road option was the most obvious way that we can continue to grow and expand this event.”

Launched in 2019, the Frontier 300 has grown into a ‘bucket-list’ type event for endurance riders looking for an organised but social event where enjoying the journey and taking in the route is prioritised over speed.

Entry for the two-day road version costs £160, the same as the all-road option. Entry includes:

  • Fully-stocked feed stations
  • Overnight camping
  • Evening meal
  • Route GPX
  • Breakfast
  • Coffee
  • Some of the best bikepacking brands at the event expo
  • Brunch by the beach on Sunday morning

Focal Events is a UK-based organiser. The SCOTT Frontier 300 is Focal Events’ second event in its calendar year, following what will be the 10th edition of Dirty Reiver in April. Focal’s one-day gravel race, Dalby Grit, follows in June before the third edition of the Gravel Rocks weekend celebration in July.
