Registration platform njuko has expanded its international reach by confirming a partnership with the Zurich Maraton de Sevilla… ‘one of Europe’s fastest growing and flattest marathon events.’
The collaboration, which originally began in 2024, will now extend to the 2026 edition of the event. The marathon organisers have selected njuko as the official registration technology platform for all national and international entrants.
Title-sponsored by insurance firm Zurich, and held next year on February 15, 2026, the Zurich Maraton de Sevilla is known for its flat and fast course – featuring just 10m of elevation gain across the route.
With a course record of 2:03:27, set by Deresa Geleta, the event is seen as a top destination for athletes aiming to qualify for major international championships, including the Olympic Games.
Zurich Maraton de Sevilla is World Athletics Gold Label certified and recognised for its high density of elite performances. Its timing early in the year gives elite athletes a six-month lead-in to summer championship events.
Temperatures typically range between 7°C and 18°C in February, making the southern Spanish city a favourable location for personal best attempts. The event also draws recreational runners with its affordable accommodation and scenic course.
Javier Gavela, Technical Director of the Zurich Maraton de Sevilla, said the decision to continue with njuko was based on both performance and ease of use.
“It’s a pleasure for us to keep working closely with njuko for the upcoming edition, because [they] ensure a great experience for our athletes and make it easy for us as the organisation,” Gavela said.
France-based platform, njuko, which hit 4.3 million registrations globally in 2024, is used by events including the Manchester Marathon, Paris Marathon, Milan Marathon, Beirut Marathon and Kielder Marathon.
