On Sunday, September 14, 2025, Casper Stornes of Norway won his first IRONMAN World Championship in Nice, France, in a time of 7:51:39.
Stornes led a Norwegian podium sweep, with fellow countrymen and past champions Gustav Iden and Kristian Blummenfelt finishing second and third respectively.
Stornes, who won the title on his debut, ran a marathon time of 2:29:25 – a new IRONMAN World Championship best.
According to IRONMAN, this marks the first time a country has taken all three spots on the podium since 2016, when Germany’s Jan Frodeno, Sebastian Kienle, and Patrick Lange took the top three spots at the IRONMAN World Championship.
