Swedish brand POC has released the Cytal Lite, billed as an ultra-lightweight road helmet designed for climbing and hot conditions, making its debut at the 2025 Tour de France with EF Pro Cycling.
Weighing under 200g (CE standard, size M), the Cytal Lite is focused on three key performance areas: low weight, ventilation, and heat management – particularly important for riders tackling mountain stages or racing in warmer climates.
Magnus Gustafsson, Director of Hard Goods at POC, said “The Cytal Lite is for when every gram counts and heat management is critical. We’ve refined the helmet’s structure to reduce weight and significantly improve airflow.”
EF Pro Cycling riders will wear the helmet throughout this year’s men’s and women’s Tour de France events. The team was closely involved in its development, with Peter Schep, Head of Performance at EF Pro Cycling, stating that heat management is now viewed as a key factor in race performance alongside aerodynamics.
The Cytal Lite builds on the design of the original Cytal and Cytal Carbon, both known for aerodynamic performance. However, the new Cytal Lite helmet has been engineered for lighter weight and improved cooling – with an airflow system optimised for 20–30km/h, seen as typical speeds on mountain climbs.

The helmet is certified to CE and CPSC standards, with weight by size:
- CE: S – 180g / M – 200g / L – 220g
- CPSC: S – 240g / M – 250g / L – 300g
