Indoor cycling platform ROUVY has unveiled its latest updates ahead of the northern hemisphere indoor cycling season.
The new features include timed competitive segments, increased in-app customisation, and a wave of new virtual cycling routes, including popular professional training camp locations.
ROUVY will introduce timed segments from October 20, 2025. Riders will find a selection of pre-defined segments across climbs, rolling road sections, and shorter sprints to challenge themselves and set a new personal best.
Additional motivation comes in the form of avatars representing the segment leader, friends’ efforts, and own past best efforts. Users can compete over these predefined segments in real-time.
The new segments will feature on current routes as well as a range of new roads, including training camp destinations and remote corners of the world, as ROUVY continues its mission to map the world.
The latest Winter Training Camp Spotlight, once again inspired by Lidl-Trek and Team Visma | Lease a Bike, features European hotspots such as Calpe, Andorra, and Girona. This aims to provide escapism and help riders build fitness ahead of the coming season by exploring roads regularly ridden by pro cyclists.
For those looking further afield, routes added from the landscapes of Bolivia, Sri Lanka, and Tajikistan combine to form ROUVY’s latest Great World Adventure Spotlight, running from October 27, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
Another feature for this indoor season is a new five-week Alpine Peak climbing spotlight starring ROUVY ambassador and former British men’s hill climb champion Andrew Feather. Running from November 10 to December 21, 2025, this takes in five Dolomite passes.
ROUVY riders can also personalise their experience with redesigned customisation ability within the virtual garage, tailoring both rider and equipment in the app. Users will now also be able to toggle ERG Mode – automatic resistance adjustment on the trainer – on and off during a ride when required.
Marek-Martin Matyska, Product Director at ROUVY, said “We’re continuing to look to innovate and improve how riders can make the most of each and every ride on ROUVY, whilst increasing the content that riders can experience in the app.
“With our new segments we’re looking to inspire friendly competition and push performance whilst riding your favourite routes or exploring new destinations.”
Antonín Parma, Content and Experience Director at ROUVY, added, “We are on a mission to digitise the cycling world which continues to inspire adventure.
“This winter we’re excited that our internal recording crew, and quickly expanding ROUVY Route Creator community, have captured some really unique roads and locations for our riders, which most will never get the chance to experience in person.”
Following an overhaul of how users can discover new routes with an interactive global map, the app also sees a range of new filters added to the route search area, including average and maximum gradient sliders.
