Sailfish, the German-based manufacturer of wetsuits and swimwear, has been named the Official Swim Partner of DATEV Challenge Roth in southern Germany.
The collaboration will include an exclusive Roth swimwear collection from Sailfish and joint activities such as the ‘Sailfish Swim Night’, which will take place as part of the kick-off weekend months before the start in Roth.
As a special offer, all starters at DATEV Challenge Roth 2026 will receive a discount from Sailfish. In the event of a neoprene ban being imposed on July 5, 2026, all starters who have purchased a Sailfish wetsuit via sailfish.com between now and the race weekend will receive a 50% discount on all swimskins on site. Athletes only need to show their race documents at the Sailfish stand at the expo.
Race Director Felix Walchshöfer emphasised the value of the new cooperation, saying “We are delighted to welcome Sailfish as our new swim partner at the ‘Home of Triathlon’.
“What is particularly valuable is that Sailfish is not just an equipment supplier, but a partner who shares our passion for this sport and wants to play an active role in shaping it. This benefits everyone who competes in Roth and our entire community who want to improve their swimming. We look forward to many joint projects.”
Sailfish founder Jan Sibbersen said “Challenge Roth is the ultimate in triathlon. A German, family-run institution with international appeal. It’s a perfect fit for Sailfish. And as a native of Franconia, I am also extremely proud that what belongs together is finally coming together.”
Sam Laidlow, winner of DATEV Challenge Roth, also welcomed the collaboration, saying “Roth is one of the most memorable races I’ve ever done. The support on the course and the atmosphere around the event is on another level.
“Having Sailfish become Challenge Roth’s official swim partner is great to see. I know firsthand how dedicated Sailfish are to pushing performance in the water, so it’s exciting to think what this will bring to the race moving forward.”
DATEV Challenge Roth is a major event in the triathlon calendar. It sells out this year, and, on next year’s race day, is expected to attract people from 110 nations on July 5, 2026.
