Santini celebrates 90 years of La Vuelta with leader jerseys and three commemorative kits

Italian apparel brand Santini has unveiled the official leader jerseys for La Vuelta 2025, alongside three new kits marking key moments in this year’s Spanish Grand Tour.

The presentation of the new range took place on May 14, 2025, in Madrid, with Santini joined by La Vuelta organiser Unipublic. The event also highlighted the 90th anniversary of La Vuelta, a historic start for the event in Italy’s Piedmont region, and the return of the infamous Alto de l’Angliru climb.

La Vuelta 2025 runs from August 23 to September 14, with a Grand Départ from the Reggia di Venaria near Turin – marking the first time the race will begin in Italy.

Santini has produced the official leader jerseys from its headquarters in Bergamo, Italy. These include:

  • La Roja (red) – general classification, sponsored by Carrefour
  • Green – points classification, backed by Škoda
  • White – best young rider, sponsored by Plenitude
  • Polka dot – mountains classification, supported by Loterías y Apuestas del Estado

The launch also featured the classification jerseys from La Vuelta Femenina by Carrefour.es, held earlier in May.

“We’re honoured to once again dress the leaders of La Vuelta and to celebrate nearly a decade of successful collaboration,” said Monica Santini, CEO of Santini Cycling.

“This partnership highlights our commitment to the highest levels of professional cycling.”

Javier Guillén, General Director of La Vuelta, added “Year after year, this partnership allows us to dress our leaders in garments that are at the forefront of technology and reflect La Vuelta’s spirit of innovation.”

In addition to the official jerseys, Santini introduced three special-edition kits for fans. Designed for performance, all three use Polartec Power Stretch fabric for the jerseys and a high-performance Foam Bio chamois in the bib shorts.

  • Alto de l’Angliru – A dark, dramatic kit honouring the punishing Stage 13 climb with gradients up to 23.5%. Features include ‘El infierno’ across the chest and dancing devils on the back.
  • 90th anniversary kit – A bright orange kit referencing the colour of the 1935 leader’s jersey. The back features the original route, the number 44 of winner Gustaaf Deloor, and the Flemish lion.
  • Gran Salida Piemonte – Celebrates the Italian start with a design inspired by the Piedmont flag. The jersey’s back includes elevation profiles of the first four stages.

Suggested retail prices are: Jersey – €100 / £100 / US$120; and Bib shorts – €140 / £140 / US$168
