The Dave McGillivray Finish Strong Foundation raised over US$314,000 as part of its debut in the 2025 Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program. The foundation ranked 29th in fundraising out of 288 charities overall that participated with runners in this year’s event.
Founded by veteran Boston Marathon race director Dave McGillivray, the Finish Strong Foundation was one of 176 charities selected as official partners of the Boston Marathon charity programme in 2025.
“I marked my 53rd Boston Marathon finish this year, and our foundation kicked off its first year as an official charity with the race,” said Dave McGillivray, President of the Finish Strong Foundation.
“It’s amazing to see what my fellow members of Team Finish Strong were able to do together – raising our largest total to date for any charity running programme we’ve taken part in.”
Laurita Kaigler-Crawlle, Executive Director of the Finish Strong Foundation, said the support from charity runners is a vital source of funding. “We hope to continue this relationship with the Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program, and to see more and more impact generated from this collaboration,” she said.
A total of 29 runners participated as part of Team Finish Strong in Boston. The foundation is also a charity partner of the United Airlines NYC Half, Big Sur International Marathon, ASICS Falmouth Road Race, Bank of America Chicago Marathon, and the TCS New York City Marathon.
In total, over 75 runners are expected to represent Team Finish Strong across these events in 2025. To date, the foundation has raised more than US$352,000 this year to support its programmes.
