World Triathlon has announced a change of date and location for its upcoming Brasília World Cup event, originally scheduled for October 25-26, 2025. The international governing body notes that this change is… ‘due to unforeseen circumstances involving the city’s availability to host the event.’
The national federation of Brazil has noted that during the same period in October, Brasilia will be hosting a significant national exam for public school teachers. As a result, the city will not be able to accommodate international sporting events, making it impossible to stage the competition as planned.
World Triathlon adds that it is working closely with the Brazilian national federation and local organisers to identify an alternative host city within Brazil. The goal is to reschedule the event during a similar period, but later in the season, and World Triathlon will provide detailed plans and updates as soon as they are available.
