On September 1, 2025, the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Championship 2025 will gather 300 athletes from 20 nations to take on one of endurance sport’s most challenging courses.
Held in the Stockholm Archipelago, starting at the harbour of Sandhamn and finishing at Utö Värdshus, competitors must cover a total of 68.8km, including 9.2km of open-water swimming and 59.6 km of trail running across 24 islands.
Among the starters are some of the world’s strongest swim run teams, including former world champions – which should help to deliver a highly competitive race. Spectators along the course will be able to follow the action at selected restaurants and food stations, while safety boats, medical staff and marshals support the athletes throughout the day.

The record time for completing the course is hold by Hugo Tormento and Max Andersson in an incredible 07:00:59 hours. The final teams typically cross the finish line in around 14 hours.
Building up to the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Championship in Sweden each year, the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Series runs from April to November and consists of 11 events: 6 in Europe and 7 in North America.
