National governing body British Triathlon has announced Science in Sport (SiS) as its official performance nutrition supplier. SiS will be working with British Triathlon to support its triathlon and paratriathlon teams on their four-year journey to LA2028.
British Triathlon’s performance team will work directly with SiS and its team of sports nutrition specialists. This will support the creation of bespoke nutritional strategies to fuel the elite programme athletes.
In addition to supporting the elite squad, SiS will offer British Triathlon members exclusive discounts across its range of energy, hydration and recovery products.
Mike Cavendish, Director of Performance at British Triathlon, said “Nutrition is such an integral part of performance, and I’m excited to be bringing SiS on board to help us create truly bespoke nutritional plans for our triathletes and paratriathletes.
“Getting nutrition and hydration right fuels those tough sessions, speeds up recovery and hugely contributes to performance on race day. As we enter the LA2028 cycle, getting the right nutrition partner on board is hugely important and we are really pleased it is SiS.”
Cavendish continued, “Science in Sport is trusted by professional, Olympic and Paralympic athletes in a range of sports across the world in part because of their proven commitment to preventing banned substances entering finished products. This means we can be confident that every batch of every product used by our athletes is clean and certified as so.”

Ruth Daniels, CEO of British Triathlon, added “As well as working with all our athletes to create tailored nutrition programmes, we are really pleased that SiS is extending its expertise to our members.
“In addition to exclusive discounts, all members will have access to the SiS fuelling guide to support them as they swim, bike and run, whether competing or just enjoying taking part.”
Dan Lampard, Chief Operating Officer of Science in Sport, said “We are incredibly proud to announce this partnership with British Triathlon as we collectively build towards the LA Olympics in 2028, supporting both the Olympic and Paralympic squads.
“We are excited to be providing our specialist nutrition and best practice fuelling to support the elite team and the wider British Triathlon network.”
The SiS fuelling guide will be available to every British Triathlon member in 2025. The guide provides simple, easy to understand advice for athletes of all abilities, written by SiS in-house performance nutritionists. There will also be guidance on effective fuelling strategies for both training and race days and tailored recommendations for energy gel consumption based on race distance – from short course to long course.
