A new inner-city circuit running event – the Solstice 3k – is set to debut in King’s Cross, London, on June 20–22, 2025, as part of the VIA Criterium and The London Cycle Festival.
The three-day programme combines elite racing and community runs on a closed 800m circuit centred around Coal Drops Yard, a redeveloped former gasworks site now home to retail and dining outlets.
The route includes a steep ramped climb, a sprint along Stable Street, and a technical dog-leg through Granary Square before heading back to the finish.
The Solstice 3k aims to bring fast-paced racing to spectators in the capital, with a weekend that includes mixed participation events and a Friday night elite race.
Tracksmith, the US-born running brand, will present the elite racing and host additional 5km and 10km community runs, starting and finishing outside VIA Atelier on Stable Street.
VIA is the organiser behind the wider London Cycle Festival, now in its third year, and also curates the VIA Criterium – an urban circuit cycling race.
An event village is planned for the weekend, with brand exhibits and programming intended to appeal to runners and cycling fans alike. The launch event for the 2025 edition of the Solstice 3k and VIA Criterium took place earlier this month at VIA Atelier.
