Berlin-based boutique bike brand Standert, which specialises in steel and aluminium bikes, has launched a new incarnation of its stainless steel adventure gravel bike, the Erdgeschoss. The name translates to ‘Ground floor’, and aims to signify persistence on all terrain.
Crafted from high-end stainless steel, the Erdgeschoss is designed for durability and to ‘last a lifetime’. To highlight the material, both new colourways, Golden Brown and White Rabbit, include raw finish touches.
The bike is built with extensive mounting options for racks, mudguards, top tube bags, and extra bottle cages under the down tube, making it suitable for long rides and bikepacking. The frame is paired with a Columbus Cross+ carbon fork.
Key technical features of the new model include:
- 50mm tyre clearance for 700c wheels and 54mm for 650b, ensuring versatility across different terrains
- A T47 internal 85.5mm bottom bracket, which Standert says offers stiffness, better tyre clearance, and compatibility with almost every crankset
- Sliding dropouts with UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger) compatibility, allowing riders to run a single speed setup or make fine adjustments to the wheelbase and chain tension
- A rake-adjustable Columbus’ Cross+ carbon fork, enabling riders to fine-tune the handling for steeper, snappier control or a more relaxed ride based on load and preference
- Internal dynamo light routing
- A Chris King headset
External cable routing is retained for service-friendly ‘liveability’, making repairs easier on long rides.
Maxe Faschina, Head of Product at Standert, said “The Erdgeschoss has built a loyal fanbase over the years, so we decided to make the necessary upgrades to future-proof it for the latest groupsets, while keeping the traditional features that made it so great in the first place. Long-lasting, service-friendly, and highly adaptable.”
Bori Faschina, Director of Marketing & E-Commerce at Standert, added “The Erdgeschoss is more than just an off-road bike, it’s an invitation to go further, to disappear into the world and ride without a finish line.
“The versatility, durability and strength of stainless steel means the Erdgeschoss puts more of the planet within reach, turning curiosity into unforgettable journeys.”
The new Erdgeschoss was available for pre-order on the Standert website from October 28, 2025, in complete custom, full-build, and frameset options. Bikes are expected to be shipped early in 2026.
