Strava, billed as ‘the app for active people’ with over 150 million users, tracked 1,809 new King of the Mountain (KOM) records during this year’s Tour de France. This marks the highest total of KOMs ever recorded during the race, up from 1,770 in 2024.
Tadej Pogačar, now a 4x time Tour winner, reigned supreme once again, securing 362 KOMs, more than any other rider and one in five of all new KOMs set during the race. He smashed the existing KOM on the iconic Mont Ventoux (Stage 16) by more than five minutes, recording a time of 53:47 over the brutal 20.74km, 8.3% gradient climb.
Pogačar also dominated the Strava community, racking up nearly 2 million Kudos across the race, with one ride becoming the most ‘Kudos’d’ activity of the summer (117,999).
Other standout performances include:
- France’s Lenny Martinez with 126 KOMs
- Bruno Armirall with 80 KOMs
- Rising British talent Oscar Onley with 72 KOMs, including a ride that came within just 30 seconds of Pogačar’s Hautacam record (Stage 12).
