Swimathon, the UK’s largest annual fundraising swimming event, has extended its partnership with endurance event registration platform njuko through 2026 and beyond.
Each year, Swimathon takes place at over 450 swimming pools across the UK, inviting participants of all ages and abilities to raise funds for Cancer Research UK, Marie Curie, and other charitable partners. The event offers a range of distances and a flexible format, with individuals and teams encouraged to take part either during the dedicated event weekend or at a time of their choosing through the MySwimathon programme.
Having selected njuko in 2023 to deliver a tailored registration experience, Swimathon’s organisers have renewed the partnership to continue leveraging njuko’s custom-built tools. These include venue and session selection, venue-specific dashboards, finish time submission, and reporting features – developed to meet the needs of a multi-site, flexible event.
Matt Trevett, Head of UK at njuko, said Swimathon exemplifies the flexibility and modularity that the platform can offer.
“The Swimathon event is such a great example of the custom modularity we provide at njuko – meaning bespoke features that can be installed per client,” said Trevett.
“Swimathon came to us with their needs, and we developed several bespoke modules for their needs… I think they are a great example of a unique event benefiting from being able to ask us for what they want.”
The most recent Swimathon, held in 2025, saw thousands of participants nationwide. The event has raised over £1 million annually in recent years. Swimathon continues to emphasise inclusivity, offering set distances from 400m to the challenging Triple 5k, as well as options for self-directed participation and team relays.
