Twiceme adds Immobility Alert for outdoor adventurers

Twiceme Technology has introduced a new Immobility Alert feature aimed at improving safety for individuals active in outdoor environments.

The feature, launched as part of the Twiceme 2.0 platform update, automatically detects when a user is unresponsive and notifies emergency contacts with their location and medical details.

Sweden-based Twiceme integrates digital safety tools into outdoor and industrial personal protective equipment (PPE) using near-field communication (NFC) chips. The company’s technology is embedded in products from a range of helmet and apparel brands serving cycling, skiing, mountaineering, and construction.

The new Immobility Alert addresses situations where a user may be injured or incapacitated and unable to call for help. If a user remains inactive and does not respond to a prompt from the Twiceme app within a set time – such as 30 seconds or one minute – the system automatically alerts pre-selected contacts or emergency services.

Christian Connolly, CEO of Twiceme, stated that the feature offers added assurance, particularly for users in isolation. “It offers a safety net for individuals in scenarios where they cannot call for help,” said Connolly.

“For outdoor enthusiasts alone in potentially dangerous environments, the Immobility Alert provides assurance that emergency responders can still be notified.”

The Immobility Alert complements existing features in the Twiceme app, including:

  • Medical ID: Stores key medical information accessible via NFC
  • Rescue Alert: Enables manual emergency alerts
  • Get Back Timer: Notifies contacts if a user fails to check in
  • Friend Alert: Shares location and activity status with trusted contacts

The Immobility Alert and updated app are available for iOS and Android.
