International fitness racing brand DEKA will host two events over the same weekend across the pond, bringing together more than 5,500 athletes in Manchester, UK, and Boston, MA.
Taking place on July 24–26, 2026, the events will feature participants from 1,000 gyms, including first-time competitors, elite racers, and families.
Created by the team behind Spartan, DEKA uses a standardised race format across its events. Every athlete completes ten functional fitness zones, earning a DEKA Mark to measure their performance against a global benchmark. The functional fitness zones test strength, endurance, and resilience through movements such as rowing, SkiErg, weighted lunges, farmer’s carries, sled pushes and pulls, wall overs, and burpees.
According to the event company, in Manchester, more than 80% of competitors are making their first DEKA FIT appearance in the UK. In Boston, MA, 78% of competitors will take on their first DEKA event. Women represent 52% of competitors in Manchester and 57% in Boston, MA.

The Manchester event will be DEKA’s largest UK event to date, welcoming more than 2,500 athletes representing over 720 gyms, with participants travelling from across Britain, as well as Australia, the US, and the Cayman Islands.
The Boston, MA event, held at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, will stage its largest DEKA event yet, expecting more than 3,000 athletes, supporters, and spectators. Participants will range in age from 11 to 76 from almost 200 gyms.
