Canyon has announced a new generation of its Grizl AL, a refined aluminium gravel bike designed for adventure, commuting, and touring. The release follows the launch of the second-generation Grizl CF carbon model during the 2025 season.
The updated Grizl AL is aimed at the growing international all-terrain riding movement. According to the company, the bike is intended for a range of uses, from summer overnighters and multi-day touring to daily commuting.
The new aluminium frame is 120g lighter than its predecessor and is designed to be robust enough for singletrack riding or heavily loaded adventures, maintaining a focus on versatility.
Canyon has increased the number of mounting points on the frame. It can accommodate racks, cargo cages, and bottles, as well as a ‘pizza’ rack at the front for additional carrying capacity. For wet weather, it is compatible with Canyon DEFEND Fast Fenders.
Tyre clearance is a significant feature of the new model. While the Grizl AL comes equipped with 45mm tyres as standard, the frame has enough clearance to fit tyres up to 54mm, which is equivalent to a 2.1-inch mountain bike tyre.
The bike is designed for reliability and ease of maintenance, featuring external cable routing, a standard 1 1/8-inch steerer, and a threaded T47 bottom bracket. The aluminium handlebars include 16° of flare to improve control during descents.
Based in Koblenz, Germany, Canyon is a direct-to-consumer bicycle manufacturer. It produces bikes for multiple disciplines, including road, mountain, and gravel, and partners with professional athletes to support its product development.
Ben Hillsdon, Director of Communications at Canyon, said “Whether sneaking in a midsummer overnighter, holidays touring and exploring, or just leaving traffic behind on the way into work, a highly adaptable adventure-focused gravel bike is the right tool for multiple jobs.”
The Grizl AL range consists of three models:
