Elite British triathlete Jonny Brownlee will attempt to set a new record for the Weekend Warrior challenge at Supertri Blenheim Palace on June 6–7, 2026. The three-time Olympic medallist is aiming to complete 10 sprint triathlons across the two-day event weekend, a mark that no athlete has previously attempted in the history of the challenge.
The attempt will take place at the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Oxfordshire, UK. Brownlee will compete alongside thousands of amateur participants, lining up in the same start waves as first-time racers and club athletes.
The Weekend Warrior challenge will require Brownlee to complete a total of 7.5km of swimming, 200km of cycling, and 50km of running. Each individual sprint distance consists of a 750m swim in the Great Lake, a 20km cycle on closed roads within the palace grounds, and a 5km run around Queen Pool.
Jonathan Brownlee said “You don’t need to be a pro to take part in something special. Blenheim has always been about people coming together to challenge themselves. I’ll be racing all weekend. It’s an immense challenge given the time cut-offs, but the best part is sharing the course with the triathlon community from first-timers to seasoned age-groupers.”
The 2026 edition marks the first year the event is being run by Supertri, which now acts as the organiser for the UK’s largest triathlon. The race has been held at the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill for more than 20 years and remains one of the five largest triathlons internationally by participant numbers.
Brownlee has a long-standing connection to the venue, having famously finished in a dead heat for first place with his brother Alistair at the event in 2012 prior to the London Olympic Games.
Michael D’hulst, CEO of Supertri, said “Jonny taking on this challenge captures everything we believe triathlon should be. The best moments in this sport happen when people race together, regardless of where they finish.
“To see someone of Jonny’s calibre lining up wave after wave alongside athletes who might be doing their very first triathlon is incredibly inspirational and speaks to our values of triathlon bringing shared connection, purpose and achievement.”
In addition to the Weekend Warrior challenge, the event offers SuperSprint, Sprint, and Sprint Relay options. It also hosts a Supertri Pro Series race, which brings professional triathletes to the same venue as the mass-participation field.
